Price and payment
The minimum job charge is £250. No deposit is required. Payment is due on completion by bank transfer. Materials and skip costs are agreed separately before we incur them, or may be arranged by you. We confirm any change to the work or price with you before proceeding. A written one-year workmanship guarantee covers defects caused by our workmanship; it adds to, and does not limit, your statutory rights.
If your plans change
Tell us as soon as possible by email, phone, WhatsApp or post. Email info@grplastering.co.uk or support@grplastering.co.uk, or use Call us on the website. A clear cancellation message is enough; there is no compulsory form or need to give a reason. We will acknowledge the cancellation and explain any costs in writing. If you want to move the date, we will first try to agree an alternative. A rearrangement itself has no administration fee.
A 14-day cooling-off period
For consumer bookings you may cancel from the time the contract is agreed until the end of 14 days after the day it is agreed. This includes the cancellation rights normally applying to telephone, online and in-home bookings. If a longer statutory period applies, that longer period takes priority.
We will not start during that period unless you expressly ask us to in writing. Before an early start, we explain the proportionate cost of work supplied if you cancel. You lose the cooling-off right after full performance only if you requested the early start and expressly acknowledged that consequence. If you cancel before any requested work starts, there is no cancellation charge. During the cooling-off period there is no lost-time penalty or separate charge simply for ordering materials; any lawful payment for an expressly requested early start is limited to the proportionate service actually supplied. Without the required request and information, that payment does not apply.
Any money due back is returned promptly and within 14 days after we receive your cancellation notice, using the same payment method unless you agree otherwise. There is no refund fee.
Costs outside the cooling-off period
There is no automatic percentage fee. Any cancellation term must have been supplied before booking, and a charge is limited to reasonable, evidenced loss directly caused by cancellation:
- Work already carried out with your agreement is charged at the agreed rate.
- Materials specifically authorised for your job may be charged at their actual unrecoverable cost after returns, refunds, reuse or resale. We will discuss collection or ownership of any materials you pay for.
- With at least 48 hours' notice before the agreed start, there is no charge for unworked reserved time. With less than 48 hours, any claim for unworked reserved time is limited to our actual unavoidable loss, capped at £150 in total. It is not an automatic £150 fee.
We take reasonable steps to reduce losses, including trying to refill the time. We deduct savings and replacement work, never charge twice for the same loss, and do not charge for time we successfully rebook. Cancellation costs cannot exceed the unpaid agreed contract price. There is no administration fee and no charge for a free quote or ordinary site visit.
If we need to change the booking
We will contact you promptly if illness, unsafe conditions, unsuitable weather or another problem affects the agreed date and try to agree a suitable alternative. If we cancel, or cannot agree a reasonable replacement date, you may end the booking without a cancellation penalty. Any money due back is returned promptly and within 14 days where required. Your rights where we are at fault remain unchanged.
Questions or a problem with the work
Email support@grplastering.co.uk, giving your name, job address and a short explanation. We aim to acknowledge complaints within two working days and give a useful response within ten working days, or explain when we can. Nothing here limits your rights to reasonable care and skill, remedies for faulty work, or other consumer rights. We will include these terms and applicable cancellation information with your written booking confirmation so you can keep a copy. Last updated 13 October 2026.
